GROW YOUR OWN ART-SCI PATHWAY FOR WILDLIFE CONSERVATION WITH FEEDBACK AND GUIDANCE FROM OUR MENTORS.

The Creature Conserve Mentorship Program is a support system for artists, designers, scientists, and writers as they collaborate and explore the human connection to nature, creating new art-sci pathways to a healthier world for all creatures. We also host Mentorship Fellows who are developing the reach and relevance of our Mentorship community.

We support proposals from any art-making practice, including those interested in developing their skills in science communication and art advocacy related to wildlife conservation. Successful applicants also receive free, unlimited access to our online workshops for a full year.

The Mentorship Program Application requires that the mentee propose a specific project as the focus of their program; this can be an existing or new project.

applications open July 1 and close July 31.

Mentorship runs from September through the end of March each year. Mentorship takes place exclusively online. Access to the internet is essential and required. Participants from all countries and backgrounds are welcome to apply.

creature conserve MENTORSHIP PROGRAM DETAILS

We encourage each Mentee to forge their own creative path, develop a meaningful relationship with their Mentor, and expand their access to the wealth of expertise, knowledge, and talent across the Creature Conserve network of artists, designers, scientists, and writers.

—Derek Russell, Creature Conserve Mentorship Program Director

Upon successful application to the program and depending on the project, each Mentee is paired with one of our Creature Conserve Mentors. The mentee/mentor relationship develops over time: applicants must plan for a six-month commitment. This is a competitive program, and all applications are reviewed for viability and relevance.

Who is involved in mentorship?

Mentees: individuals seeking help or guidance for any personal or professional project related to collaborating (art-sci, writing-sci) and exploring the human connection to nature, creating new pathways to a more sustainable world for all creatures.

Mentors: established artists, designers, writers, and scientists who have leadership experience (formal or informal) and either currently work in art-sci wildlife conservation or are interested in collaborating with Creature Conserve.

Mentorship Fellows: the program is supported by one or more Fellows who are developing new art-sci pathways for wildlife conservation.
